To manage and grow the Manuscript brand we require a wide ranging and diverse set of skills internally at our factory and head office. Whilst we do not always have availability we are interested to hear from ambitious people with relevant skills who may be looking to join our growing team.

We are a niche business but pride ourselves on a great working environment that couples unrivalled nib manufacturing experience with forward thinking creativity in how we promote and grow our product ranges and brand in the global market.

The Shop Floor More +

  1. Manufacturing– we are one of the remaining specialists in pen nib manufacturing in the UK. Our toolmakers/engineers are responsible for all tool work, maintenance, development and quality control of our nibs.
  2. Hand Presses– some of our pen nibs/accessories require additional work before they can be finished. We have a skilled set of workers responsible for slitting and shaping the products on a set of hand operated tools.
  3. Warehousing– we have our own warehouse onsite for both piece parts and finished goods with staff working in general product picking/packing and shipping in our goods in and out departments.
  4. Assembly– whilst some of our assembly work is outsourced we do still maintain a level of our own assembly work in our factory.
  5. Quality control– along with the engineers we have a QC process which includes other members of the shop floor team to ensure all our products meet the required quality standards.

  1. Accounts– our small accounts team are responsible for the day to day maintenance of the financial well being of the company. Managing cash flow, budgets, debtors/creditors and the monthly preparation of our financial accounts.
  2. Sales– Manuscript’s sales strategy is developed internally and we are constantly working on developing our customer relationships through increasing contact and a high level of account administration.
  3. Marketing– a rapidly growing area in the business in terms of importance. The brand has very much moved into the 21st century and our marketing strategy is a vital ingredient of how we promote ourselves both to the trade and end user. We are also putting more emphasis on the online/digital marketing world.
  4. Purchasing– Manuscript sources products, packaging both locally and also across Europe and the Far East. Our large product range means we need careful management of our purchasing to ensure we meet growing demand.
  5. HR– most of our HR is outsourced but we do have internal procedures in place to cover day to day issues.
  6. The Board– Manuscript has a board of 5 Directors: Managing Director, Commercial Director, Finance Director, Operations Director & Company Secretary.
